Q29 - Is it permissible to wax for a man or woman if their leg or any other part of their body is ha
Question # 029
Aslmualakum is it permissible to wax for a man or woman if their leg or any other part of their body is hairier than usual.
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.
Generally, it is permissible to remove hair for both men and women (excluding the eyebrows).
However, there is a slight difference between the genders. For a woman, there is no issue in removing her body hair; rather she will be rewarded if the intention is to please her husband. For a man, although it is permitted, it is undesirable to remove hair if there is no need.
One important note should be taken into consideration. The satr/awrah between Muslim women is from navel until the knees just like a man. So areas between those parts are not permissible to be done by anyone other than yourself or your husband.
